VAAK

Collective for Sound, Image & Design

VAAK is a London-based collective working across sound, image and design. It brings together artists, filmmakers and designers to develop projects that move between disciplines and formats, from spatial installations and screenings to live programmes and collaborative works. Rooted in a cross-cultural perspective, VAAK creates platforms for emerging voices and shapes experiences that connect different forms of practice.

A Night for Honiak Music Academy

Join us on Tuesday 26 May at Rich Mix London for a night of music in support of rebuilding the Honiak Music Academy in Tehran.

In March, an airstrike destroyed the academy, a community space founded by Iranian musicians Hamidreza Afarideh and Sheida Ebadatdoust. Home to more than 250 students, the academy was reduced to rubble within moments, with instruments, equipment, and years of dedication lost. More than 20 teachers and staff are now without income, and an important cultural space for many has disappeared.

This special fundraising concert brings together an extraordinary line-up of artists including Cigdem AslanKourosh KananiFaarjam SaidiParham BahadoranShohre Khaatoon, and Adib Rostami.

All profits from the event, organised by Vaak Events and Art Stage, will be donated directly to support Afarideh, Ebadatdoust, and their students in rebuilding the Honiak Music Academy and supporting its community.
